Acknowledgments for Revelations and Translations, Volume 3

This publication of the printer’s manuscript of the Book of Mormon is made possible by the assistance of numerous individuals and institutions. First and foremost, we give heartfelt appreciation to the leadership of the Community of Christ and the staff of the Community of Christ Library-Archives, Independence, Missouri, where the printer’s manuscript is currently held. Without their stewardship and preservation of the manuscript and without their generosity, this volume would not exist. We especially thank Mark Scherer, Lachlan Mackay, and Ronald E. Romig. Gratitude is also due to Community of Christ archivists Rachel Killebrew, Richard P. Howard, and Barbara Bernauer.

In addition to the Community of Christ, we wish to thank the administrators and officials of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Salt Lake City, which sponsors the project, and the management and staff of the Church History Library, Salt Lake City, where the majority of Joseph Smith’s papers are located and where the project is centered. We express deepest appreciation to the Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Foundation. Their continued support and friendship make our work possible. In particular, we are grateful to Gail Miller, to whom this volume is dedicated. Her commitment to completing this project according to the highest standards continues to inspire us.

The editorial and web staffs of the Joseph Smith Papers Project lent their talents and dedication to the creation of this volume. In addition to those named in the front matter of this volume, we thank Alison Palmer, Sharon E. Nielsen, Leslie Sherman, and Stephanie Hengen. Interns also assisted in the production of this volume; in particular, we thank Charlotte Hansen Terry for her careful research assistance. The Joseph Smith Papers Project relies on the skills and dedication of employees and volunteers in the Church History Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faculty at Brigham Young University. We are grateful for the assistance of Mark Ashurst-McGee, Christy L. Best, Jeffrey G. Cannon, Gerritt J. Dirkmaat, Donald L. Enders, David W. Grua, Andrew H. Hedges, Sharalyn D. Howcroft, Jennifer L. Lund, Christopher McAfee, Michael Hubbard MacKay, Alex D. Smith, Katie Smith, and Mark L. Staker. We also express our thanks to Noel R. Barton and Brian P. Barton, who provided professional genealogical research services in support of the directory of scribes and printers.

We express our thanks to Glenn N. Rowe and Brandon J. Metcalf, Church History Department, for their assistance and friendship. Special thanks goes to Welden C. Andersen of the Publishing Services Department, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who photographed the pages of the manuscript in Independence, Missouri. Charles M. Baird, also of the Publishing Services Department, prepared the photographs for publication. We also thank Kiersten Olson for administrative support. We are grateful to Debra Xavier and Ben Godfrey for their help in marketing the project and the volume.

We thank the management and staff at Deseret Book Company, Salt Lake City, for sharing their professional expertise in printing, distributing, and marketing this volume. We are particularly grateful to Sheri L. Dew, Laurel Christensen Day, Lisa Roper, Amy Durham, Suzanne Brady, Richard Erickson, and Dave Kimball.
