Part 2
contains twenty-one documents created between the beginning of April and the end of June 1833. Most of
these documents relate to the plans to build in , Ohio, and , Missouri, and to build the city
of in
Independence. Among these documents are also letters and revelations that outline
doctrinal principles and instructions to regulate the affairs of the church. This
part also contains accounts of disciplinary councils in which was excommunicated. Hurlbut’s antagonism following his
excommunication became a threat to JS personally and the church in
collectively.
