Part 3: February–June 1835
Between February and June 1835, JS spent a significant amount of
time blessing individuals who had either gone on the expedition or contributed to the
construction of the in , Ohio. He also established new administrative
bodies in the church, including the and the , and instructed them on
their duties and responsibilities. This part contains twenty-one
documents, the majority of which relate to the calling of the Twelve
Apostles and the Seventy and to the preparation of these men for
missions. Other documents concern the administration of the church
in , the role of the Missouri and its presidency in regulating the church
there, and the church’s efforts to publish JS’s revelations. Among other things, the documents include
minutes of meetings, correspondence, and recommendations.
