Article of agreement made and entered into this Sixteenth day of August Eighteen Hundred and forty-one between on behalf of the proprietors of the Section of Land No. Sixteen in Township four North of the Base line of Range Nine west of the fourth principal Meridian of the one part, and Joseph Smith jr of the other part all of the county of in the State of , Witnesseth; That said proprietors having laid off and platted a part of said Section, (as will more fully appear by reference to a copy of said Plat which is hereby referred to, marked Letter “A” and made a part of this agreement) and having appointed said their and Attorney in fact to sell and convey the Lots on said Plat to such person or persons as the parties hereto by themselves or their agents may be able to contract with for and at the average and agreed price of sixty dollars per Lot to be paid to said proprietors, the excess over and above said price to be paid to said Smith, hereby agree and bind themselves each to the others as follows— to wit; said parties of the first <​part​> hereby agree to sell & convey by general warranty deed said Lots so to be sold by said on behalf of said proprietors, to the purchaser or purcha [p.
