purchaser in the hands of the for the benefit of creditors of the deceased.
Respondant denies any knowledge of any irregularity, fraud or crime of the said of said in the sale and purchase aforesaid but says that he has always been informed and believes said proceeding of said to have been regular, in good faith and valid or he should not have purchased the said premises, and here positively denies said decree was obtained, sale reports or deed made as herein before stated for the purpose of hindering, delaying or defrauding the creditors of the said Joseph Smith deceased or for any other fraudulent purpose whatever
Respondant further says that as to the rest and residue of the said complainants said bill of complaint and the matters and things therein stated he has no interest, does not know, is not informed and cannot state either to admit or to deny the same.
Respondant further says that he denies all and all manner of combinations and confederacies wherewith he is charged in said complainants’ bill of complaint.
And now having fully answered the said bill of complaint and the interrogatories therein is ready to aver and prove the same as this honorable Court may direct, and prays that he may be discharged with his reasonable costs and charges herein expended &c.

This Indenture made and entered into this fifth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three between Joseph Smith as sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints of the County of and State of of the first part and Robert Burton of the County of and aforesaid of the second part witnesseth: That the said Joseph Smith party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Robert Burton party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the County of in the State of known and described as follows to wit:
