An ordinance to amend an ordinance entitled on ordinance regulating the Fees and Compensation of the several officers and & persons therein mentioned passed Jan 14th. 1843.
Sec 1st. Be it ordained by the City Council of the city of
Nauvoo

That the Mayor shall be allowed a salary per annum of one hundred dollars <​per annum​> and that the alderman and counselors shall receive each one dollar per day— <​while in session—​> also fine for absnce <​attendance in p◊◊◊tion​>— one dollar per day.
Sec 2nd. That the part <​clauses​> of sec 1st of the the aforesaid ordinance regulating the amount of the Mayor’s salary <​and fees <​& fines​> of the alderman and councellors​> is hereby repealed.
Sec 2. This ordinance to be in force from & after its passge any all other ordinance to the contra[r]y notwithstanding
