<An Ordinance respecting Mad Dogs, & other Animals.>
<Sec. 1.—> Be it & it is hereby ordained by the city Council of the city of That all Dogs or other animals known to have been bit or worried by any rabid animal shall be immediately kill’d or confined by the owner under a penalty <not exceeding> of $1.000 <at the discretion of the Court,> & allso no dog shall be permitted to run at large in the for thirty days after the passage of this bill <ordinance> under a penalty of <twenty> five dols. to be paid by the owner or owners of said dog or dogs & all dogs during said 30 days shall be liable to be kill’d if found twenty rods from their masters, & such penalty <or Penalties> shall be recoverable & recovered <& applied> in like manner as <are> other Penalties of a like nature [p.
