<​Sec. 1.​> Be it ordained by the city council of the city of that all carrion be removed without the bounds of this or buried three feet under the surface of the ground by or at the expence of the owners person or persons owning the animal when it died & it if said persons or persons shall neglect or refuse to comply with this ordinance he or they shall be liable to <​pay​> a fine of <​not exceeding Ten Dolls at the discretion <​of the Court,​> and one half of the fine to go to the informer, and the other half to be paid into the City Treasury, & to be recoverable in the like <​same​> mannner as fines of a like nature within this .—​> And if the <​owner or​> owners of said <​such dead​> animal cannot be assertanied <​or if known, refuse to comply with this ord[inan]ce​> they <​Marshal​> shall <​cause the Animals to​> be removed or buried by order of the city Marshall at the expense of the city corperation.

Sec 2. This Ordinance to take effect & be in force from & after its passage, all other acts to the contrary notwithstanding.—
