An ordinance concerning the measure of <stone> Coal and Lime:
1. Sec 1 Be it ordained by the city council of the city of , that the Inspector of weights and measures in said is hereby authorozed and directed to construct a measure for the measurment of stone coal, which, as near as may be shall contain eighty pounds <to the bushel,> as a standard by which other measurs may be guaged.
Sec 2 And be <it> further ordained that the said Inspector of weights and measures as authorized and directed to furnish a round or square measure as a stand as for measuring Lime, which <shall> not be more than fifteen Inches in depth, to contain a bushel.
Sec. 3 and be it further ordained that as soon as these standards shall be ready which shall be within [blank] days it shall not be Lawful to dispose of stone coal or Lime, <in this > under a penalty of five dollars for each offence, without measuring the same in a Legal measure as above directed.
