Know all men by these presents that I of the City of & State of am held firmly bound unto [blank] (as agent for the corporation of the City of to purchase or otherwise obtain a city lot for the use of said upon which <to> erect a city Hall or councill house & other public buildings as the corporation shall deem Expedient) in the penal sum one thousand dollars to the full payment of which I bind myself my heirs Executors & administrators firmly by these presents
Now the above obligation <is such> that whereas [blank ] has received plenary power to negotiate with for a city lot for the Express purpose of A public lot for a City hall and other public buildings to the best advantage which acts are to be valid and sanctioned by the corporation of the aforesaid This is the Express understanding that the said has this day sold unto the said [blank] Lot three (3) in block four (4) of s second Addition to for the purpose above mentioned & for the sum of five hundred dollars [p.
