Know all men by these presents that I of the County of and State of am held and firmly bound unto Joseph Smith, Sole Trustee in Trust for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of the and aforesaid in the penal sum of four hundred dollars for the payment of which well and truly to be made I hereby bind myself my heirs executors, administrators and assigns firmly by these presents. Sealed with my seal and dated this 18th. day of April A. D. 1843.
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the said hath this day sold unto the said Joseph Smith Trustee &c 2 certain lots or parcels of land situated in the County of and State of and known as lots No. [blank] in Block no. [blank] in s addition bounded on the North by said Joseph Smiths four acre lot on the East by Spears Street, on the south by Parley Street and on the West by two lots sold by said to . And received in payment for said land a note of hand bearing even date herewith for the sum of two hundred dollars payable five months from date.
Now if the said Joseph Smith shall pay or cause to be paid the amount of said note according to the tenor and effect thereon thereof when due I the said hereby bind myself my heirs and assigns to make as or cause to be made to the said Joseph Smith a good and sufficient Warrantee Deed for the above described land and then this bond shall be null and void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Given under my hand at the day and date aforesaid.
