Know all men by these presents that we as principal and and as securities all of the City of in the County of and State of are hereby held and firmly bound unto the Mayor and City Council of the City of in the penal sum of Two thousand dollars for the payment of which well and truly to be made we hereby bind ourselves our heirs executors administrators and assigns firmly by these presents.—
Now the condition of this bond is as follows to wit; Whereas the said aforesaid hath been appointed Auctioneer for the said City of according to the provisions of an Ordinance of said City entitled “An Ordinance regulating the duties and fees of City Auctioneers in the city of ” passed July 12th. 1842.—
Now if the said shall honestly and duly <perform> all the duties of said Auctioneer as is prescribed by said ordinance according to the tenor and effect of the same during the time of his appointment and holding said Office, then these presents and every thing herein contained shall become null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
In witness whereof the said parties have each hereunto set there <their> hands and seals this twenty first day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three
