able to drive the enemy in heaps and we could cut them off. All we want is a place to gather the women and children and when they are safe there will be no difficulty in defending ourselves as we might see proper. If what says is the fact we had better encourage the feeling and increase the friendship already existing amongst the tribes.
Coun. thinks there would be no difficulty in sustaining ourselves providing our women and children were safe; we cant venture forth to do as we would because we would expose them. If they were safe we could take care of ourselves; we would not be under the necessity of sending to for supplies; we could supply ourselves [p. [195]]
