This Indenture made and entered into this Thirteenth day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and forty two between James Rawlings and Jane Rawlins his wife of the County of and State of of the first part and Joseph Smith as sole Trustee in Trust for the church of Jesus christ of Latter day Saints of the County of and State of of the second part witnesseth that the said James Rawlins and Jane his wife of the first part for and in consideration of the love and good will they bear to the church of Jesus christ of Latter Day Saints of which the said Joseph Smith party of the second part is sole Trustee in Trust and also for the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Joseph Smith as sole Trustee in Trust for the church of Jesus christ of Latter Day saints party of the second part his successors in office and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of Land situate and being in the County of in the state of Known and described as follows, to wit: forty acres off from the North End of the South west quarter of section No (7) Seven in Township No (4) four North and range No (7) Seven west of the fourth principal Meridian. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Joseph Smith party of the second part his successors in office and assigns forever. And the said James Rawlins and Jane his wife party of the first part their heirs and assigns the aforesaid premises unto the said Joseph Smith as sole Trustee in Trust &C. party of the second part his successors in office and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever do and will warrant and forever by these presents defend,
