This Indenture made and entered into, this Second day of May in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty Two between and Mary Ann [Gates Dimick] his wife, of the county of and state of of the First part, and Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of the county of , and State of of the Second part, Witnesseth that the said and Mary Ann his wife, party of the First part, for and in consideration of the love and good will they bear to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of which the said Joseph Smith, party of the Second part, is Sole Trustee in Trust, and also for the sum of one dollar, to them in hand paid, the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm, unto the said Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, party of the Second part, his successors in office and assigns [p. 84]
