This Indenture, made and entered into, this seventeenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two between and Rosanna[h Robinson Marks] his wife, of the County of and State of of the first part, and Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in trust, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of the County of , and State of of the second part, Witnesseth, that the said and Rosanna his wife party of the first part, for and in Consideration of the love and good will they bear to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of which the said Joseph Smith, party of the second part, is sole Trustee in Trust, and also for the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof if hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said Joseph Smith, as sole, Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the County of in the State of known and described as follows, to wit— Commencing seventy feet North of the South East corner of Lot four in Block one hundred and forty nine, running thence west fifty feet, thence North twelve feet, thence East fifty feet, thence south twelve feet to the place of beginning— Also, commencing Fifty feet West of the South east corner of said Lot, running thence North Eighty two feet, thence west ten feet, thence south Eighty two feet, thence east ten feet, to the place of beginning, said lot being in the City of — Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining
To have and to hold, the above described premises unto the said Joseph Smith party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns forever. And the said and Rosanna his wife party of the first part, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust, &c, party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
