Deed Joseph Smith to Sarah [Scott] Mulholland for ¼ of Lot 3 B[lock] 146 of
This Indenture made and entered into, This thirteenth day of May in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty-three between Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of the county of , and State of Illinois of the First part, and Sarah Mulholland of the county of and state aforesaid, of the Second part, Witnesseth, that the said Joseph Smith, party of the First part, for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars, to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said Sarah Mulholland party of the Second part, her heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the county of in the State of Illinois known and described as follows, to wit: one quarter of Lot number three in Block number one hundred and forty six of the City of commencing fifty one feet East of the South West corner, of said Lot and running thence North five and a half rods, thence East six rods, thence South five and a half rods; thence West six rods to the place of beginning, together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in anywise appertaining. To Have and To Hold The above described premises unto the said Sarah Mulholland party of the Second part, her heirs and assigns forever. And the said Joseph Smith, party of the First part, his assigns and successors in office, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Sarah Mulholland party of the Second part, her heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, [p. 149]
