Sir—
I Send you by my Friend , an order from Mr C T Rathborn for a deed to me for a Lot which he Bought of you, and on which he owed you Twenty five Dollars, I paid him for the Lot, with the exception of that amount which I now forward by to you— — I Should have paid it Fall before last but you were not there at the time when I came away— allso Last Summer while at I was prepared to pay it but you were absent, I Requested your wife to write on the Subject which I presume She did— I have not had a Favourable oppertunity to forward it Since untill the present time— You will please make the Deed out in the Name of Isaiah Steel which who is my Step Son— will attend to that matter for me—
You recollect my haveing called to get the Bond for a Deed which you had allready made out— but you were just Starting for with your wife and had not time to attend to it but told <me> it was all right and <you> would attend to it when you returned [p. [1]]
