Rev.
Dr. Sir— I have sometime since written to Mr Jos. Smith relative to the situation of affairs at but suppose from the multiplicity of his engagements that he has not found it convenient to give me an answer— Will you sir oblige me by saying whether there are a large number of buildings erected upon our lands and if possible how many and the kind of buildings— Also the circumstances under which they were built or in other words what kind of Bond was given those who built?— I am disposed to be liberal upon the subject of these lands but is certainly right that we should have some information regarding them— Can I do any thing to benefit you and at the same time assist these who have built by coming out to ?— I see the taxes have not been paid upon the lots— This of course must be attended to by somebody—
