I inclose herewith my reports for suits instituted decided and pending in the courts from the Dist of at the June Term 1844.— I have been delayed in making my reports, in consequence of not having received returns from the clerk or county as I expected—
In the case of the against the Securities of James W. Stephenson deceased upon the secured Bond dated July 1st 1836— in relation to the trial of which I wrote you fully by N. A. Randall Esqr. After giving the case a very carefull examination I could not perceive that there was any resolution of any principle of law upon that trial of the cause upon which an exception could be taken— the question was fairly submitted by the court to the Jury whether the $18.500 were monies that were received and accrued under the first [p.
