Yours, certifying the Election of certain Officers of your , came to hand to day.
Whatever may have been the practice heretofore, I am compelled with my views of the 16th. section of the Charter of your to state— that hereafter no Commissions will be issued to any City Officers but on the Certificate of the Clerk of the County Commissioners Court, certifying that such persons elect, have filed in his Office, bond as required by law of Justices of the Peace.
All Elections of militia officers who are to be commissioned, should be directed to the “Adjutant Gen [p. 172]
