Patrick Lynch a witness, produced, sworn and examined on behalf of the State, deposeth and saith:
I was living in , a clerk in store, when the mormons took that place, which took place <was> about the middle of October last— when the mormons had approached to within 50 and 100 yards, I of the store house— I left. having first locked the door, and deposited the key in my pocket— I ran into the brush between 100 and 200 yards of the store house while they <where I saw> were <them> taking the goods out of <from> the house, some were packed off on horses; and after that when near half a mile off— I saw waggons appearantly loadened which I believed to be the goods from the store— I have found a number of articles taken from the store, at <in> , since [p.
