I an acting Justice of the Peace, in and for the said , do certify that and his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing Deed, and who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said , having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined separate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her said . In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four.

This Indenture, made this the sixth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and forty three Between & Parmelia [Permelia Bundy Dayton] his wife of the County of and State of of the first part, and Charles H. Cooley of the County of and State of of the first part, Witnesseth, that the said & Parmelia his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Forty Dollars, lawful money of the , to them in hand, well and truly paid by the said Charles H. Cooley, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, release, convey and confirm unto the said Charles H. Cooley and his heirs and assigns forever, all that Tract & parcel of land lying and situated in s Addition to the City of in said and as will more fully appear in referrence to the plot of said addition being a fractional part of Lot forty-nine (49) in Block No Four in said addition to the Town of , commencing on the East line of said Lot at the North East corner of ’s Lot, running eight rods South, thence West four (4) rods and eleven feet to the center of Barlow Street, thence eight rods North, thence East four rods & eleven feet to the place of beginning. And all the estate, right, title, interest, claim and demand, both at law and in equity of them the said and Parmelia of, in, and to the said premises, and every part thereof: Together with and singular, the privileges and appurtenances, to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining; and [p. 108]
