This Indenture, made and entered into, this seventeenth day of April in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty-four between and Cynthia [Stewart McClelan] his wife of the county of and State of , of the one part, and of the county of Dyre and State of Tennessee of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said and Cynthia his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the county of in the State of , viz, a part of Lot No Thirty four, in Block six of s addition to the Town of commencing Eighteen Rods South from the North East West corner of said lot, thence South twenty two Rods, to Lumber Street, thence East about seven Rods to Green Street, thence North along said Street, Twenty Two Rods, to Water Street, thence West along said Street, about seven Rods to the place of beginning be the same more or less. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said his heirs and assigns forever. And the said and Cynthia his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said his heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In testimony whereof, the said and Cynthia his wife of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year first above written
