having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined separate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her said . In testimony whereof, I the said Alderman, have hereunto set my hand, and affixed my Seal, at the City of , this twelvth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four. This Indenture, made and entered into, this tenth day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty four, between and his wife, of the county of and State of , of the one part, and Elmira Tufts of the county of and aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said and his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Elmira Tufts her heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the county of in the State of , viz: a part of Lot number three in Block number one hundred and twenty four in the City of , commencing at the North West corner of said Lot, and running thence East the whole length of said Lot, thence South seventy five feet and nine inches, thence West to the West line of said Lot, thence North seventy five feet and nine inches to the place of beginning, be the same more or less. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Elmira Tufts, her heirs and assigns forever. And the said and his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Elmira Tufts her heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In testimony whereof, the said and his wife of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year first above written.
