described in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Fanny Hartshorn having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined Separate and apart from her said , acknowledge that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her said .
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of September in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty four.

Robt. Stewart to Jacob Lance pt L. 2. B. 12.
This Indenture made and entered into this 7th. day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four between Robert Stewart and Nancy [Stewart] his wife, of the county of and Territory of of the one part, and Jacob Lance of the county of and Territory of of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Robert Stewart and Nancy his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Sixty five dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Jacob Lance his heirs and assigns for ever all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the county of and State of , viz: Lot 2 and West half lot No 1 situate in Block 12. the west half of the above names lots be the said more or less. Together with all and Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Jacob Lance his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Robert Stewart and Nancy his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Jacob Lance his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
