This Indenture, made and entered into, this twelth day of october in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty four between and Mary Ann [Angell] Young his wife, of the county of and state of of the one part, and Edward Cuthbertson of the County of and aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said and Mary Ann Young his wife, for & in consideration of the sum of Sixty dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain sell, convey, & confirm unto the said Edward Cutherbertson [Cuthbertson] his heirs and assigns for ever, all that part or parcel of land situate and being in the county of in the State of , viz: The west half of Lot number two in Block five of s revised addition of ’s addition to .
Together with all & singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described described premises unto the said Edward Cuthbertson his heirs & assigns forever. And the said and Mary Ann Young his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said Edward Cuthbertson his heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
In Testimony whereof, the said and Mary Ann Young his wife of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day & year first above written.

I a Justice of the Peace in & for the said , do certify that & Mary Ann Young his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing Deed, and who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses & purposes therein Mentioned. And the said Mary Ann Young having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined seperate & apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the [p. 195]
