This Indenture, made and entered into, this second day of November in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty four, between and Maria [Harris] his wife, and and Elisabeth [Elizabeth Harris Browett] his wife, both of the county of and state of , of the one part, and Oren Jeofferds of the county of and aforesaid, Witnesseth, that the said & & Maria & Elisabeth their wives, for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Oren Jefferds his heirs and assigns forever, all that part or parcel of land, situate and being in the county of in the state of , viz: Part of Lot one (1) in Block three (3) in s addition to the City of described as follows—beginning at the corner of Wilcox & Ripley streets—thence running South to land owned by , thence East to Edmond Martins land, thence North to Ripley street; thence West to the place of beginning containing a quarter of an acre more or less.
Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Oren Jefferds his heirs and assigns forever And the said & & Maria and Elisabeth their wives, their heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
