In testimony whereof the said John Dalton and Rebeckah his wife, of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

I a Justice of the Peace in and for the city of , county and state aforesaid, do certify that John Dalton and Rebeckah his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing Deed, and who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Rebeckah Dalton having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined seperate and apart from her said husband, acknowledged that she had executed the same, And relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed voluntarily, freely and without compulsion of her said husband.

This Indenture, made this 31st. day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three, between Charlotte Ann Robison, Gaurdian of Emma C. [Robison] and Chauncey G. Robison, infant children of (deceased,) late of in the state of , of the one part, and John Dalton assignee of of the and aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that, whereas heretofore, to wit, at the May Term of the circuit court, of the aforesaid county and state, A. D. 1842, on a certain petition then and there pending in said Court it was by the said court ordered and decreed that certain premises described in said petition, be sold for the support and education of said wards except one third of the same premises which shall be reserved to the Widow of said decd, for her dowerdd. and “the said Charlotte Ann” Robison, Guardian aforesaid, “shall sell the said premises, herein directed to be sold, at public vender, to the highest [p. 234]
