This Indenture made and entered into this sixteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three between and Clarisa [Clarissa Hancock] his wife, of the county of and state of , of the first part, and Richard Jones of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said and Clarisa his wife, for and in consideration of the Sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars, to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain sell, convey, and confirm unto the said Richard Jones his heirs and assigns forever. all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the & above mentioned, bounded as follows beginning at a Stake, two rods East of the South West corner of Lot No four in Block No one hundred and forty six (146) in the City of , thence running North Eleven rods, thence East two Rods, thence South Eleven rods, thence West to the place of beginning it being one sixth part of said Lot.
To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Richd. Johes his heirs and assigns forever. And the said and Clarisa his wife their heirs and assigns the aforesaid premises unto the said Richard Jones his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
In testimony whereof the said and Clarisa his wife, of the first part, set their hands and seals on the day and year above written.

I a Justice of the peace of said , do certify, that and Clarisa his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed, & who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, & who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the conveyance for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Clarisa Hancock having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said deed, & examined seperate and apart from her said acknowledged that she had executed the same & relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, & without compulsion of her said .
Given under my hand and seal this 21st day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred and forty three.
