An Ordinance, in relation to the duties of City Attorney.
Sec. 1. Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of , that it shall be the duty of the City Attorney to defend the interests of the Corporation in all Suits instituted by or against this Corporation, to make such returns to the Mayor, of the state & condition of the said Suits, at such periods, and in such manner as he shall prescribe, & generally to give such legal advice on matters pertaining to the interests of the Corporation, as the Mayor and Aldermen shall from time to time require.
Sec. 2. Be it Ordained, that a Salary of fifty dollars per annum, be, and the same is hereby allowed to [p. 162]
