There are two entries recorded 19 and 20 February 1845 in the Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger for $1.00 for orders to John Mackley dated 12 September 1844. There are two extant $1.00 orders for Mackley dated 12 September 1844; these two orders likely correspond to those two entries. Mackley’s account in the ledger notes twelve orders on collector dated 12 September 1844 totaling $11.00. This and the other extant pay order for Mackley dated 12 September 1844 likely correspond to two of those twelve orders. (Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger, 28, 32, 146; Pay Order, William Clayton to Nauvoo City Collector for John Mackley, 12 Sept. 1844–A.)
