To the Honorable of the Municipal Court of the City of —
<The Undersigned> your respectfully represents <that he is a citizen of > that he is now under arrest in the City of by Virtue of a Warrant of Commitment Issued by a Justic of the Peace in and for Said that your is now in the Custody of a Constable in and for Said who holds your by Virtue of the aforesaid Warrant of Commitment— Your further avers that on the 22 Inst. he Was arrested upon a Charge of Larceny and Brought before the Said Justice a aforesaid and Examined upon a Charge of having Stolen a Clothes Brush the Property of one of Said — the Said being the Person who made the affidavit upon which the Said Warrant Was Issued against your — Your further avers that his Said Arrest is Illegal in this that the Said Warrant of Commitment on <by> virtue of which your is now held in Custody does not aver that t◊◊ your — has been Examined upon any crime or criminal charge known to the Laws of this . that the Said Warrant is not in conformity with the Laws of the a copy of which is hereunto annexed— Your further avers that he is not [p.
