To the Honorable the City Council of the City of
Whereas it appears by an ordinance of said passed sometime in or about October A. D 1842 that the Temple Block, and other unoccupied Church property is exempt from taxation, and whereas it was in the opinion of your petitioners the design of said ordinance to exempt all kinds of property belonging to the from taxation, and whereas sundry kinds of property which has been consecrated for the building of the have been taxed while in the hands of the Temple Committee—
