2 O saints let this one keyword ever be
When tatlers come say thou dont talk to me
Now if his word we always keep in mind
Jehovah may to us be good and kind
We know that tatling is a base employ
Which does the peace of upright men anoy
And saints who seek to serve the Lord aright
We will not blame if they the tatler slight
3 The keyword true is now dont talk <
-[
to me>
Let this be used O friends when we a tatler <
-[
see>
Tis true that upright men do sometimes Err
But they do not a wicked course prefer
Sometimes a man may be with debts perplext
And with results he may sometimes be vext
But let us keep in mind this pretty word
And with firm faith & true obey the Lord
4 The morning makes the shadows flee away
I love to see a fair and pleasant day
But tatlers low I do not love to see
Perhaps that some may Justly scensure me
But they are very few I’m very sure
Who can ’gainst me much Evidence procure
Perhaps I’ve spoke at times when I was <vext>
I’ve been with debts about a year perplexd
5 But I will now to God my sins confess
And ask him too Each humble saint to bless
God doubtless loves the humble saint & kind
Who has a mind, a good and generous mind [p. [3]]
