Know all men by these presents that I Joseph Smith of the County of and State of have made and constituted and appointed and by these presents do make constitute and appoint of and and of the County of and State of my true and lawful Attornies jointly and severally, for me and in my name, and for my use to ask, demand sue for and recover <and receive> all such sum or sums of money— debts, goods wares and other demands whatsoever, which are or shall be due owing payable and belonging to me by any manner or means whatsoever, to sell and convey Estate real or personal, to pay taxes and take receipts therefor, to sell town lots lands and tenements, to make exchanges of land, for wares, merchandize or <any> other kinds of goods or property whatsoever, to liquidate any debts owing by me and take receipts therefor, And also for me and in my name to seal execute, and deliver deeds, conveyances bargains and sales, for the absolute sale and disposal of any Town lots. houses, lands, tenements or any other property whatsoever with such clauses covenants, agreements as my said Attorneys shall think fit and convenient, giving and granting unto my said Attorneys jointly and severally by these presents, full power and authority in and about the premises, to have use and take all lawful ways and means in my name for all and every pruposes aforesaid and upon the Receipt of any such debts dues or sums of money or acquittances or other sufficient discharges for me and in my name, to do execute and make and give. And generally to do all other acts and things, in the law whatsoever needful and necessary about the premises, for me and in my name, to do execute and perform, as fully and to all intents and purposes, as I myself might or would do if personally present, and Attorneys one or more under them for the purposes aforesaid, to make constitute and again at pleasure to revoke. Hereby ratifying and confirming all and whatsoever my said attornies shall lawfully do in and about the premises, by virtue thereof In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one
