Your Committee to was refered that part of the inaugeral address of his honor the which had reference to the practability of marking a ship canal through the City of Would beg leave most respectfully to report
That the City Council order a survey and that a report be made to the City Council as soon as pract[ic]able the water power that may be had and to assertain as near as posible what what the expence will be in carrying said canal into opperation
