Sec. 24. That there shall be a Regimental court of inquiry & assessment of fines, in each Regiment, to be composed of the Col.. as president, the Lieut. Col. Maj. & Capts. as members; and the Adjt. as secretary.— It shall be the duty of said of court to assess on all delinquents, officers, non-commissioned officers, musicians & privates belonging to said Regiment in conformity to the provisions of this act.

Set. 25. That it shall likewise be the duty of each court of assessment, to fine any member of said court who does not attend the same according to to the provisions this act.

Sect. 26. That each Court of assessment shall meet at 10 O’clock A.M. and continue in Session from day to day until all the business shall be finished, at such places as the presidents shall respectively shall, or, may appoint on the Regimental or Legion parades, and it shall be the duty of all delinquents so returned, to appear without further notice at said court, to make a lawful excuse, if any they have; & should any person feel aggrieved by the decision of said court, they may appeal to the president of the board for a new hearing, who, on receiving satisfactory evidence that it is just, grat the same by giving an order to the Collector to suspend the collection of such fines, and if the person so applying for a new hearing shall fail to attend at the next court of assment, or shall not be able to show cause why he should not be fined, it shall be the duty of said court to issue their warrant anew for the amount with an addition of 20 per-cent.—

Sect. 27. That the presiding officer of each board shall cause the secty. of the same to keep a record the proceedings of the court, in a book kept for that purpose and make out there from a certified list of the names of the persons fined, with the fine or fines annexed to each name, upon which list it shall be the duty of the presiding to issue & furnish to the Collector, the following warrant within 30 days from the court of assessment.— &c—— That a Genl. court Marshall be held on the 3rd. Saturday in Octr. annually.— Any officer leaving more than one month, shall notify the next in command in writing, &c.— [p. [1]]
