24 Sept. 1812–12 Sept. 1883. Farmer, laborer. Born in Ernestown, Lenox and Addington Co., Upper Canada. Son of James Lake Jr. and Mary. Married Mary Ann Pickle, 17 Nov. 1831, at Ernestown. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, ca. 1832, in Ernestown. Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, summer 1833. Ordained an elder, by July 1833. Participated in Zion’s Camp expedition to Missouri, 1834. Plaintiff in legal proceedings against JS, June 1835, in Geauga Co. Moved to Mentor, Lake Co., Ohio, by 1840. Moved to Percy, Northumberland Co., Ontario, Canada, by 1851. Died in Northumberland Co.
