Biography
6 June 1793–after June 1846. Born at Burlington, Hartford Co., Connecticut. Son of Eliza Taylor. Lived at Norton, Medina Co., Ohio, by Aug. 1820. Married first Lydia Azula Taylor, 12 June 1828, in Medina Co. Visited by JS at his home at Norton, 1834. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Received elder’s license, 23 May 1836, in Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. Sold Medina Co. land holdings, 1838. Moved to Ripley, Brown Co., Illinois, by June 1840. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, by Aug. 1840. Listed in Nauvoo Third Ward, 1842. Wife died, Oct. 1843, in Nauvoo. Married second Martha Pierce, 22 Jan. 1846, at Nauvoo. Sold land at Nauvoo, 14 May and 11 June 1846.
