Biography
4 June 1814–12 Oct. 1868. Locksmith, cabinetmaker, farmer. Born at Lewis, Essex Co., New York. Son of Joseph Tippets and Abigail Lewis. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, 1834. Moved to Missouri, 1835. Married first Rosalia Elvira Perry, 1 Jan. 1837, in Clinton Co., Missouri. After Missouri expulsion, moved to Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois, and later to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, 1840. Wife died, 1841. Married second Amanda Melvina Perry, 26 June 1842, at Nauvoo. Ordained an elder, by 1846. Lived in Pottawattamie Co., Iowa, 1848–1850. Traveled west to Utah Territory, 1852. Settled in Farmington, Davis Co., Utah Territory. Moved to Brigham City, Box Elder Co., Utah Territory, by 1858. Wife died, 1864. Married third Rose Wickham, 10 May 1865. Died at Brigham City.
