19 Nov. 1823–1843. Born in Pennsylvania. Son of Jonathan Hoopes and Rebecca Watts. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, by 1842. Defendant in State of Illinois v. J. Hoopes and L. Hoopes and State of Illinois v. J. Hoopes and L. Hoopes on Habeas Corpus, Apr. 1843, in Hancock Co. Died in Nauvoo.
