9 Aug. 1820–19 Sept. 1889. Mason, plasterer, farmer, sawyer. Born in Griswold, New London Co., Connecticut. Son of Elisha Branch and Mary Herrick. Moved to Lisbon, New London Co., by 1830. Moved to Willimantic, Windham Co., Connecticut, by 1844. Married first Emily C. Atwood, 19 Nov. 1844, in Willimantic. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Cyriel Brown, in Mansfield, Tolland Co., Connecticut, 16 Jan. 1850. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley; arrived in Salt Lake City, 14 Oct. 1850. Ordained a seventy by Joseph Young, Mar. 1851. Served mission to eastern U.S., 1857–1858. Appointed to settle in southern Utah Territory, 1861. Lived in St. George, Washington Co., Utah Territory, 1870. Married second Ella Coombs Birkbeck, 9 May 1877, in St. George. Served mission to Mesquite Flat (later Mesquite), Lincoln Co., Nevada, to raise cotton, spring 1879–1883. Moved to Mohave Co., Arizona Territory, by 1880. Moved to Price, Carbon Co., Utah Territory, by 1889. Died in Price.
