Know all Men by these Presents that We William H. Mc.Graw and <​Silas Hillman​> are held and firmly bound unto the City of in the Penal Sum of Fifty Dollars, conditioned for the payment of Twenty five Dollars, for the payment of which We do bind Ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, jointly, severally, and firmly by these Presents. Dated this fifth day of July A. D. 1842.—

The Condition of the above obligation is such, that, Whereas the said William H. McGraw has this Day given notice of his intention of appealing to the Municipal Court of said , from a Conviction or Judgment had against him before the Mayor of said , for a Sum of Twenty five Dollars, beside Costs, for a breach of an Ordinance of said , entitled “An Ordinance in relation to Temperance” which Conviction was had at the Suit of said City of .

Now if the above bounden William H. Mc.Graw, or his Security, shall pay or cause to be paid all Costs, and or Costs that may accrue, if Judgment shall be rendered against the said William H. McGraw, then this Obligation shall be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in Law. Given under Our Hands and Seals this fifth Day of July A.D. 1842.
