The court met at 2 O’clock PM pursuant to adjornment— s opening argument to the Jury conviction in this case Mr One of his precepts is the guilty shall not escape punishment I will answer that by another there shall arise false prophets—
This is one of the most difficult of cases I ever attempted to make an argument in— It is difficult to show men innocent, who against whom there is no evidence of guilt—
No wit except the 3 whose testimony is thrown away said any by , said any thing about the object of these men coming to that day—
The prosecution found they would do nothing with this lying Daniels— they abandoned trying to pick up any more of these putrid sons of Adams— and brought up one of Eves daughtirs— and holds a private interview
I will leave to account to the heads of the Church for his private interview with him. I will leave it to him to tell whether he lied or he lied with [illegible] or whether they lay together
