Er thinks the boys carry their whistling to far. He related a circumstance of Mr A. Allen who came here merely to transact business, and the boys collected together to whistle him away, but he was gone before they came.
Er made some observations in regard to our laying still to suit the mob. The church has done it for fourteen years, and he is tired of it. The only thing he wants is the word of Lord on the subject and if he says lay still, he is willing to do so. We have got a leader that can tell the mind of the Lord and if he says go to let all go, and if he says hold still we will hold still. [p. [367]]
