“I copy Your preacher X (209.10. M. S.) ” This is a fair specimen of the wisdom of the 19 century that opposes itself to the work of the most high God.

<28> Monday. There are 95 saints in Edinburgh, Scotland. El is in that place.
<30> Wednesday. 30. writes from , “Beloved Brother X (T&S <M Star> 239) .”
About this time immense quantities of water fell which produced a flood in the East & South of France, doing immense damage, carrying with building, bridges & everything in its way.— Earthquakes have been felt in divers places the past year, & fearful sights, & bloody signs have been witnessed in the heavens, fulfilling the words of the ancient prophets, concerning the last days. I copy the following from a printed sheet. “A most wonderful phenomenon (T & S <M Star> 215) kingdom.” [p. 19]
