This Indenture made, and entered into, this fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty four between and Louisa Cahoon his wife, of the county of and State of of the one part, and of the county of and aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said and Louisa his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain sell, convey, and confirm unto the said his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the county of in the State of , viz. it being a part of Lot seventy four in Block two of s first addition to , commencing at the centre of Young and Warsaw Streets, running along said Warsaw Street ten and a half rods to the centre of the old State road, thence East seven Rods six feet and five inches, thence South ten and a half rods, thence West seven rods six feet and five inches to the place of beginning, containing an half acre of land be the same more or less. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said his heirs and assigns forever. And the said and Louisa his wife, their heirs and assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the said his heirs and assigns, against the claim or claim of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever by these presents defend. In testimony whereof, the said and Louisa his wife of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals, the day and year above written.

I an acting Justice of the peace of said , do certify, that and Louisa his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed, and who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Louisa Cahoon having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined separate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her .
