Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Joseph Smith as Mayor, his successors or assigns, the aforesaid premises, unto the <said> his heirs and assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever by these presents defend. In testimony whereof, the said Joseph Smith of the first part, has hereunto set his hand and seal, the day and year above written.

This Indenture, made this the twenty seventh day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three Between Elisabeth Ann Hills of the County of and State of of the first part, and Mary Pierce of the County of and State of , Witnesseth, that the said Elisabeth Ann Hills for and consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars, lawful money of the , to her in hand, well and truly paid by the said Mary Pierce, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, and by these presents does grant, bargain, sell, release, convey and confirm unto the said Mary Pierce and her heirs and assigns forever. All that certain piece or parcel of land situate and being in the City of and the County of and State of known and described as follows, viz. Part of Lot No (4) four in block (24) twenty four in addition to , and bounded as follows, beginning at a stake at the South West corner of said Lot, thence north seventy one feet to a stake, thence East four rods and 11½ feet to a stake, thence South seventy one feet to a stake, thence West four rods and 11½ feet to the place of beginning. And all the estate, right, title, interest, claim and demand, both at law and in equity of her the said Elisabeth Ann Hills, of, in, and to the said premises, and every part thereof: Together with all and singular, the privileges and appurtenances, to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining; and the rents, issues, and profits thereof: To have and to hold the said premises hereby bargained and sold, or meant or intended so to be with the appurtenances, to the only proper use and behoof of the said Mary Pierce and her heirs and assigns forever. And the said Elisabeth Ann Hills for herself and for her heirs, executors, and administrators does promise, covenant and agree, to and with the said Mary Pierce and her heirs, executors, [p. 134]
