Historical Introduction
On the evening of 5 December 1832, JS presided over a of in , Ohio. The minutes of that meeting record only one item of business: discussing a new assignment for One other item was addressed, although it is not mentioned in the original minutes: ’s to the office of . , clerk of the council, recorded the council’s decision regarding Kingsbury and the ordination, which followed a few days later, in an additional entry in Minute Book 1. This entry is located a page after the original 5 December entry, following the minutes of a 10 October 1832 meeting.
